ARTS 3375 Advanced Photography: Form and Object
Reimagining the photograph as a tool for invention and transformation, this advanced course challenges traditional photographic boundaries by embracing artifice and interdisciplinary practices. Students will explore the history and evolution of constructed imagery while experimenting with staging, directing, and printing on diverse materials such as fine art paper, transparencies, adhesive papers, fabrics and more. Technical demonstrations will refine skills in Photoshop, color correction, and large-format printing. Projects may range from standalone images to print-based installations, tailored to each student's creative vision. Special attention will be given to scaling work for monumental displays and immersive environments. By the end of the course, students will produce a cohesive body of work that integrates innovative techniques and materials, translating personal narratives and ideologies into impactful physical forms.
