ECON 3370 Topics in Applied Econometrics

This is an advanced course in econometrics and data analysis, focusing on applications in the fields of economics, public health, energy, and the environment using observational data. Techniques to identify and analyze potentially causal relationships and compute treatment effects using linear and nonlinear econometric models for continuous, limited, and count outcomes will be presented. An individual research project will provide an opportunity to design empirical research and evaluate its outcomes via in-class presentation and submission at term's end. The course will be based on Stata, including a number of community-contributed routines. Enrollment is limited.
