FORM 7320 Experience Design
When is a product not a product? When it's an experience. Companies like Apple changed computing by creating intuitive and beautifully designed products, Duolingo transformed language learning into a fun and engaging journey through gamification, and Airbnb revolutionized travel by creating a sense of adventure and belonging. This course introduces Experience Design, the practice of creating products, services, and environments that provide meaningful and impactful experiences for people. You will explore principles, methodologies, and tools used to design experiences that engage and delight users. The course will guide you through gathering insights about what people need and want, defining design goals, iterating on and testing designs, and bringing those designs to life. You will be exposed to a wide range of examples of experience design, including many that come from learning in and outside of schools. Weekly assignments and a final design project will have you apply what you learn to create tangible experiences.
