MUSA 3130 Orchestration

This course explores individual instruments of the orchestra and their groupings through score study and analysis of important orchestral works from the Baroque era to today. Students will complete five composition projects: a woodwind quartet, a brass quintet, a percussion ensemble work, a work for harp in a chamber setting, and - as their final project - a work for chamber orchestra. Ownership of the music notation software Dorico is required for the course.
