NURS 2220 Intimate Matters: Sexuality, Sexual Health, and Society

Intimate Matters: Sexuality, Sexual Health, and Societyis an interdisciplinary undergraduate course that examines sexual health through the complementary lenses of health science and social analysis. Students explore human sexual anatomy and physiology, evidence-based health promotion, and disease prevention alongside the cultural, institutional, and structural forces that shape sexual identity and health outcomes. Drawing on scientific literature, public health frameworks, faith-based perspectives, and personal narratives, students develop the scientific literacy and sociological imagination needed to evaluate sexual health information critically and understand how broader social forces shape well-being across diverse communities.
