The emphasis is on central concepts of physiology and pathophysiology, including genetic and epigenetic mechanisms, immunity, inflammation, cell growth regulation, hematopoiesis, and hemostasis. These concepts are then applied in a systematic survey of diseases within body systems. Current research, clinical examples, and application to advanced nursing practice are incorporated throughout the course.
