Psychological Interventions for Societal Problems

In this course, we will explore how psychological interventions from social, developmental, cognitive, and other areas of psychology may be used to address societal problems, including those related to social inequity, the environment, and health and wellbeing. It will provide a framework to understand the psychological underpinnings of social problems, tailor interventions to those problems, and empirically assess interventions. We will cover intervention approaches related to behavior change, biases and heuristics, construal, social norms, beliefs and mindsets, and core motivational forces that drive human behavior.
