PSYC 4488 From Lesions to Lasers: The Search for the Memory Trace

Where exactly are memories located in the brain? We sort of know! This course overviews the century-long search of the physical locations of episodic memory, ranging from foundational lesion experiments to contemporary approaches, and how these experiments have shaped discovery and shifted our understanding of memory processes. Students will analyze primary literature, present research findings, and develop a deeper appreciation for the ongoing efforts to study episodic memory and the questions that continue to drive the field of memory research.
