SCHI 4030 Environment, Health, and Society: Challenges and Solutions

This course examines the complex relationships among the environment, human health, and society, examining how environmental changes shape health outcomes and influence communities around the world. Students will investigate how pollution, climate change, and ecosystem disruptions create challenges for public health and will explore the scientific, social, policy, and technological approaches used to address these issues. Through an interdisciplinary approach, students will engage with scientific evidence, real-world case studies, and policy debates to understand the causes and consequences of environmental health challenges. By examining both the problems and potential solutions, students will develop the knowledge and critical thinking skills needed to evaluate strategies for protecting human health and creating healthier, more sustainable communities.
