Rabbinic Judaism emerged parallel to but little engaged with Greco-Roman thought. This course will be an adventure in exploring their ways of learning what God desires of humanity, opening up their library, and engaging their questions. We will compare their methods of interpreting and living with the Bible to those of their Christian contemporaries, while learning to access these fundamental texts of Judaism in translation.
