THTR1039

Theatre Production Lab III: Assistant Stage Manager Prep

This is the Prep Lab portion of the Assistant Stage Manager Lab. You must also register for THTR 1019, the Run Lab portion. Assistant Stage Managers help the stage manager to run rehearsals and are in charge of backstage during performances. ASMs must be at all of the regular rehearsals and at all of the technical and dress rehearsals and performances for the show that they are assigned. You will receive two credits, one Run Lab and one Prep Lab, for serving as the Assistant Stage Manager on a Theatre Department show. This lab represents a graded credit for your attendance at and participation in all regular rehearsals. Through this lab, you learn how all the theatrical pieces of a show fit together and prepare yourself to eventually stage manage a department show. This lab requires department permission; however, no experience is necessary to assistant stage manage a show.
