THTR 3321 Contemporary Dance II
This course explores contemporary dance as an art form through diverse approaches, integrating techniques from jazz, ballet, modern, and pop dance. Students will engage with improvisation, partnering, dance history and appreciation, as well as somatic-based body awareness. Designed for upper-level students ranging from advanced beginner to intermediate and advanced, this class is open to any BC student with prior dance training. While a basic understanding of dance terms and a few years of formal training are recommended, completing Contemporary Dance I is not a prerequisite. It is well-suited for students who have previously taken beginner-level ballet, jazz, musical theater, or contemporary dance at BC.
