TMCE 7034 Critical Ethical Issues
This is the introductory course in moral theology for all degree programs, except the M.Div. This iteration of this course will introduce students to the basics of virtue ethics and the theological foundations of Catholic social thought, including its picture of the good life as one lived in community. In conversation with the insights of the Catholic tradition, it will then take up a series of issues arising in social life today, including questions about how social media relates to character and human flourishing, the causes and effects of social and political polarization, and the conditions and possibilities for friendship and other intimate relationships in our digital age.
