Biography

Darren Kisgen is an associate professor in the Seidner Department of Finance at the Boston College Carroll School of Management. He received his Ph.D. in finance from the University of Washington, and obtained undergraduate degrees in mathematics, economics, and finance from Washington University in St. Louis (summa cum laude). Prior to obtaining a Ph.D., he was an investment banker on Wall Street for seven years, including a position as Vice President at Credit Suisse First Boston. His research has been published in a number of top journals, including the Journal of Finance , Journal of Financial Economics , Review of Financial Studies , and Management Science . His research focuses primarily on credit ratings (including four solo-authored papers), as well as on M&A, gender, and labor share. He has also served as Associate Editor at the Review of Financial Studies and won multiple teaching awards.
