Elizabeth Klein

Biography
Beth Klein is a PhD candidate at Boston College School of Social Work and Graduate Research Assistant at NORC at the University of Chicago, focusing on family and child wellbeing and resource equity in the aftermath of epidemics, conflict, and forced displacement. She has extensive work experience and applied research in both the United States and internationally, including the Chicago Public School system, community-based organizations, and refugee camp schools in Thailand and France. Her work examines barriers and facilitators of educational access and healthcare access, as well as occupational health, burnout, and retention for caregiving professionals (ex: teachers, social workers, nurses, doctors). She has taught graduate level coursework in program evaluation, strategic planning, and social work community practice. She is a graduate of the University of Chicago's School of Social Service Administration (now the Crown School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice), where she was the recipient of the France Summer Grant to conduct field research and provide hands on support in the Calais Jungle, as well as the Excellence in Community and Leadership Award.
