Biography

Kristen Conroy is an Assistant Professor of the Practice in the Engineering Department at Boston College. She comes to BC from Ohio State University, where she taught in both the Food, Agricultural, and Biological Engineering Department and the Humanitarian Engineering minor. She has led courses focused on collaborative, project-based work with NGO, industry, and government partners. Kristen earned her PhD and MSc in Biological Engineering at Ohio State University where her research focused on biological treatment of high salt wastewater and opportunities for improved sanitation systems. Kristen has also served as a Princeton in Africa Fellow.  Her research passions include materials cycling, sustainable water systems, and sanitation design, access, and adoption.
