Biography

Sarah Carter, LMHC, RDT (Registered Drama Therapist) is part-time faculty in the Lynch school's clinical MH Counseling program. Sarah received a master’s in Expressive Therapies and Mental Health Counseling from Lesley University in 2013 and a Bachelor of Arts in Theater Arts from Boston College in 2008. Sarah has 15+ years of experience in theatre and mental health through educational theatre and as a clinician in inpatient, outpatient and residential psychiatric settings. Sarah's clinical work has focused on treatment for youth and adults with complex trauma integrating arts-based and trauma- informed interventions. Sarah currently works in private practice, was an adjunct faculty member in Lesley University’s Expressive Therapies Graduate program, and is a co-director and co-founder of Trauma Informed Improv and Play (TIIP) and the ReScripted therapeutic improv group program. Sarah will also be launching her own youth improv program, Act Up Studio, in Brookline, MA in Fall, '25.
