Biography

Stacy J. Silveira is an Adjunct Professor teaching Professional Responsibility at Boston College Law School.  Since 2019, Silveira has taught Professional Responsibility, Appellate Advocacy, and Legal Research & Writing at New England Law | Boston. Silveira began her career as an Assistant District Attorney in the Appellate Unit of the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office in Boston.  Since 2005, as a solo-practitioner, Silveira has served as court-appointed appellate defense counsel for indigent clients through the Committee for Public Counsel Service's Appellate Panel.  Silveira has argued over fifty cases before the Massachusetts Appeals Court and Supreme Judicial Court. Silveira received her J.D. from Boston College Law School, where she was a Public Service Scholar and a Managing Editor of the Environmental Affairs Law Review.  She earned her A.B. in government from Georgetown University, and her M.A. in political science from Boston University.
