Environmental Seismology Seminar

One scientists noise is another scientists data. This seminar course will integrate many fields of earth science by focusing on applications of seismology with non-traditional seismic sources. Although seismological data has historically been used to monitor earthquakes and the deep earth interior, recently environmental and surface process scientists have been repurposing it to investigate other natural phenomena. Topics may include utilizing seismic data to study glacial dynamics, landslides, cyclones, induced seismicity and more. Students will be expected to read and report on scientific literature, and prepare and present a literature review project on a selected topic within the realm of environmental seismology
