Biography
My research interests lie in the field of environmental seismology, which involves using seismic data to study and analyze natural earth phenomena aside from earthquakes. Specifically, my graduate work focused on land-atmosphere interactions, that is, the seismic waves generated by severe weather events like hurricanes and tornadoes. Fluctuations in atmospheric pressure generate very small, long-period seismic waves, which would usually be filtered out as background noise. These long-period signals can be used to study the way that the atmosphere interacts with the solid earth.
