Spirituality, Faith & Formation in Higher Education

This course provides an exploration of spirituality, faith, and formation within the context of higher education broadly, with particular attention to strategic initiatives from Catholic institutions of higher education. Drawing from interdisciplinary perspectives, including theology, sociology, psychology, and education, students will examine the theoretical foundations and practical implications of integrating spirituality and faith into student development, institutional culture, leadership formation, and policy development. Through scholarly resources, case studies, discussions with practitioners, and reflective exercises, students will engage with key concepts and practices aimed at fostering holistic growth and formation with particular attention to the spirituality and faith of students, faculty and staff within diverse higher education settings.
